Dem talk say dis move be plan wey Senator Akpabio-led APC Senate leadership dey do to block Kogi Central people from get their own voice for top law-making body for country. PDP warn say to use National Assembly power fight elected senator na “gross violation” of 1999 Constitution and Senate rules, and e be “highly provocative” and big danger to democracy and stability for country. Dem say dis na part of APC plan to “suffocate opposition” and na sign say total control dey enter country. Dem also talk say dis matter get wahala for gender because e be “attack on women rights” and try silence women voice. PDP call Akpabio make e clear all dis wahala, and insist say Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan don finish her suspension. Dem tell Clerk of National Assembly, Yahaya Danzaria, to withdraw letter and make e remain neutral as bureaucrat, no make dem use am spoil democracy or break law. PDP beg international community and rights groups make dem condemn dis attack on Kogi Central lawmaker and tell Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan make she no look that letter and prepare to work for Senate free free.

But Senate still hold ground say Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan no fit enter chamber now. For letter wey Acting Clerk Danzaria write on 4 September 2025, e admit say she give notice to resume but talk say suspension still dey until court finish appeal. Dem talk say case still dey court so Senate no fit allow her enter until court talk. Senate talk say her six-month suspension wey start from 6 March 2025 go remain until Court of Appeal talk. The suspension na because she no gree make dem change her seat for plenary. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions recommend suspension and also remove her aides, office benefits, and salary. Senator always talk say dis punishment na because she accuse Senate President Akpabio for sexual harassment, but Senate no gree. She go court fight suspension and she win. When she try enter July before, security block her, even though supporters gather for outside National Assembly to support her.
