Anambra To Prosecute Pipu Wey Deny Women Inheritance

Anambra State Gornment don tell police make dem investigate cases where pipu dey stop women and girls from inheriting dia parents property because of gender.

State Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, make dis known for letter wey e send to Naija Police Force on Tuesday.

Nweke say di practice dey against court decisions and na crime under Anambra Violence Against Persons Law, wey fit carry up to four years imprisonment.

He say police suppose send investigation files to di Attorney-General office for prosecution, as di state don set up Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Unit to handle di cases.
