Prof. Chris Piwuna, wey be President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), don yan say Federal Government no dey take education serious because di officials no see di sector wahala as national matter wey concern everybody. For Toyin Falola Interviews on Sunday, Piwuna talk say di indifference of key government people don make am hard to carry out sustainable reforms. According to am, ministers dey see education problem as only di Minister of Education own matter. E add say corruption and ideological differences still dey affect how government dey respond. Piwuna yan say many government people dey treat education as capitalist business, not public good, and some dey suggest make TETFund start support private universities while public ones dey suffer. E still talk say government self-interest don turn TETFund to marketplace instead of proper service for public education.
