On Friday, Kanu bin ask di court make dem adjourn after e yan di trial judge, Justice James Omotosho, say im former legal team, wey dey led by former Attorney-General of di Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), never release im case file to am. Kanu bin already yan say e ready to open im defence for written application, wey include plan to call witnesses and request for witness summons.
But for di resumed hearing on Monday, Kanu talk say after e check di case file well, e conclude say no valid charge dey against am. E argue say di charges dey unlawful and di prosecution never fit establish any case, so e no need to continue dia defence. Di trial judge, Justice Omotosho, tell am make e file written address formally state dia position and serve di prosecution. Di judge also advise Kanu make e consult criminal law experts to sabi di legal wahala wey fit follow im decision. Di case don adjourn to November 4, 5, and 6 for adoption of final written addresses, based on whether Kanu say no case dey against am or if e wan proceed with defence.
