Lagos-Ibadan Expressway don become di most dangerous road for Nigeria despite say e good pass many highways. From new FRSC report, 73 people don die and 393 injure for di road between January and March 2025 alone. For di last 27 months, 645 people don lose dia lives and over 3,964 injure for 1,557 accidents wey happen for di 127.6km road wey pass through Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states. Accidents wey happen include one for Ayetoro wey kill 9 people, Fatgbems Bus Stop crash wey kill 5, and another one for Alapako wey kill 4. January 2025 record di highest number of crashes, while February carry highest death toll. Na overspeeding, poor vehicle condition, and driver wahala like use of drugs cause most of di crashes, according to FRSC and experts.

Across Nigeria, 1,593 people die in road crashes between January and March 2025, a jump from 1,471 deaths same time last year. South-West zone top di chart with 73 deaths from Lagos-Ibadan road alone, while Ondo record 30 deaths from one crash. Experts like Dr. Ombugadu Garba blame overspeeding, long-distance fatigue, drug use, fear of insecurity, and bad car maintenance as major causes. FRSC don reintroduce speed control and dey monitor articulated trucks and commercial vehicles wey dey involved for many fatal crashes. FRSC say dem fit use toll gates to reduce speed and improve safety. Dem urge government to boost driver education and make car maintenance cheaper to reduce deaths.
