NPFL don punish Kano Pillars with ₦9.5 million fine plus point deduction after violent scenes against 3SC and match officials

Di Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) don hammer Kano Pillars with heavy sanctions after serious gbege wey happen for dia Matchday 8 game against Shooting Stars (3SC) on Sunday, October 12, for Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano. After Shooting Stars score late equaliser for stoppage time, wahala burst as Kano Pillars fans invade pitch, attack match officials, players, and staff of 3SC. Di match end 1–1, but di violence wey follow provoke serious disciplinary action. For statement wey NPFL COO, Davidson Owumi, sign, dem find Kano Pillars guilty of plenty breaches, like poor security, fans misbehaviour, throwing dangerous objects, and assault on away team and officials.

As punishment, NPFL don deduct 3 points and 3 goals from Kano Pillars, fine dem ₦9.5 million, and ban dem from using Sani Abacha Stadium, make dem go play dia home matches for Katsina for at least 10 games or until dem fit prove say dem don fix dia wahala. Breakdown of di fine na: ₦1m each for poor security, fans wahala, and misconduct (₦4m total); ₦2m for assault on 3SC players and match officials; ₦1.5m compensation (₦250k each) for di match officials; plus another ₦2m for injury treatment. NPFL also order say di club must identify di fans wey cause di violence, submit prosecution evidence, and bring matchday security plan within 7 days or appeal di ruling within 48 hours.
