Di Anambra State Police Command don rescue one newborn baby wey be just one week old after dem arrest four women wey dem suspect say dey inside child trafficking matter for Ifite-Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area. Di Police PRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, yarn for statement say na di Rapid Response Squad for Awkuzu do di early morning raid after dem get correct intel. Di suspects wey dem catch be Elizabeth Okafor (62yrs), Esther Nweke (48yrs), Ngozi Maanfa (45yrs), and Peace Elijah Moses (25yrs). Investigation show say di women don plan among demself to buy di newborn baby girl for ₦1.7 million and don even pay ₦350,000 deposit give di supposed biological mama wey also dey among di people wey police arrest.

Ikenga talk say di baby don dey safe and under police care, as di Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, don order make dem move di case go State CID Gender Unit, Awka, for proper investigation and prosecution. Di CP still promise say di command no go rest until dem finish every form of human trafficking for di state.
