Trial wey dey go against suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for alleged cybercrime before Justice Mohammed Umar for Federal High Court, Abuja, jam gbege after the defendant raise objection. Akpoti-Uduaghan don face court since June 30 on six-count charge wey Director of Public Prosecution of Federation (DPPF), Mohammed Abubakar, file against her. Dem grant her bail, after dat Justice Mohammed Umar adjourn case till September 22 make trial begin. But as hearing resume, prosecution lawyer, David Kaswe, wey bring TV, tell court say dem ready to start trial and first witness don already dey court. As response, lawyer for di defendant, Ehiogie West-Idahosa (SAN), raise worry say prosecution no suppose open their case yet.

He talk say him client don file notice of preliminary objection to challenge whether di court get power to hear di matter. He talk say di objection no be about wetin dey inside di charge, but say dem misuse di prosecuting power of Attorney General of the Federation (AGF). Di defence lawyer still complain say dem never give am copies of di statements wey prosecution witnesses write. Even though prosecution lawyer talk say di objection wey di defendant file no suppose stop court work for that day, Justice Umar stand gidigba say prosecution must first reply di objection. Di judge talk say e go first settle di matter wey defence raise before anything else fit happen for di case. Na so e come shift hearing of di objection go October 20.
