NECO Don Release 2025 SSCE Results, Dem Record 60% Pass Rate

National Examinations Council (NECO) don release di 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE internal) results, 54 days after di last paper wey dem write. NECO Registrar, Prof Ibrahim Wushishi, wey announce di results release for press conference wey hold for Minna, Niger State on Wednesday, talk say out of di 1,358,339 candidates wey write di June/July exam, 818,492, wey be 60.26%, get 5 credits and above, including Mathematics and English. Wushishi talk say di number of candidates wey get five credits and above, no matter if dem get Mathematics and English or not, na 1,144,496, wey represent 84.26%. E talk say, “Number of candidates wey register for di exam na 1,367,210, wey include 685,514 Males and 681,696 Females. Make you remember say di 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) run from Monday, June 16, to Friday, July 25, 2025. Wushishi still talk say number of candidates wey get special needs na 1,622. From that number, candidates wey get hearing impairment na 586 males and 355 females, while those wey get visual impairment na 111 males and 80 females. On top exam malpractice matter, di registrar talk say for di 2025 SSCE internal, number of candidates wey jam wahala for different forms of malpractice na 3,878, compared to 10,094 for 2024. Dis show say malpractice reduce by 61.58%.

He still add say, during the conduct of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination, 38 schools dey involved for whole school (Mass) cheating across 13 States. Dem go invite those schools come NECO office for discussion, and after that, proper punishment go follow. Similarly, nine supervisors don enter wahala, three for Rivers, one for Niger, three for FCT, one for Kano, and one for Osun. Dem don recommend all of them for blacklisting because of poor supervision, aiding and abetting exam malpractice, coming late, bad behavior, assault, and insubordination. I go like draw una attention to one case for Lamorde Local Government, Adamawa State, where eight schools suffer from one communal clash wey scatter our exams from 7th to 25th July, 2025. He come announce say, based on the new reviewed curriculum wey dem don begin use, NECO go now dey conduct SSCE exam for only 38 subjects. Dis new arrangement go help reduce the waiting time for results to come out. As he break down the performance by states, he talk say Kano top di list with 68,159 candidates  wey be 5.020%  wey score five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. Lagos carry second with 67,007 candidates or 4.930% wey also score five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. Oyo come take third position with 48,742 candidates wey get five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. Di least performing centre na Gabon, where no single candidate fit get five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. NECO recently announce say dem don dey move from the old Paper-Pencil Test (PPT) model to Computer-Based Test (CBT) model. Some private and public schools don already join for the first phase of this new transition.
