Labour Dey Mourn Activist Abiodun Aremu, Dem Dey Demand Make Dem Investigate Di Death

Di Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and progressive civil society for Nigeria don enter deep mourning afta di sudden death of well-known activist, Abiodun Aremu. Di strong comrade, wey dey part of Labour Civil Society Coalition (LASCO) and Joint Action Front (JAF), kpai on Sunday evening for Ifo, Ogun State, afta one hit-and-run driver jam am run. For dia statement wey dem release yesterday, NLC describe Aremu as “titan of di class struggle, organic intellectual of di working people and strong internationalist” wey dedicate im life to fight for oppressed people. NLC President, Joe Ajaero, talk say Aremu life be clear example of how revolutionary theory and real-life struggle go hand in hand, all for di sake of freeing workers and building better socialist society.

Ajaero raise eyebrow on how di whole death take happen, call am “sinister pattern” and compare am to di suspicious death of another comrade, Patrick Naagbanton. Di NLC boss demand sharp sharp and clear investigation from both federal and state governments. “We no go just accept say na accident. Di Nigerian state must clear di air, catch who do am and tell everybody di full truth. Workers deserve to know,” he talk.
