ASUU Reject FG No-Work-No-Pay Wahala

Federal government don tell all di vice chancellors for di federal universities make dem follow di “no-work-no-pay” policy for di ASUU strike wey dey happen now. Di Ministry of Education talk say dem no happy as ASUU still dey do strike despite many calls for dialogue. Dem ask di vice chancellors make dem do headcount, report who dey work, and make sure say salary no go pay those wey no work. But dem still talk say CONUA and NAMDA, wey no join di strike, no go lose salary. ASUU, on di other hand, talk say dem no go gree make anybody threaten dem or divide dem, and say all di other unions dey stand gidigba with dem.

Across di country, universities don dey shut down as ASUU strike begin, with lecturers stop work, exams and research work stop too. Students dey fear say di two-week warning strike fit turn to long one. ASUU talk say government never do wetin dem suppose do, even though Minister of Education claim say government don release billions to solve ASUU demands. Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) come talk say government make dem stop di “no-work-no-pay” threat or else all workers go join ASUU strike. ASUU talk say dem still dey fight for better pay, better work conditions, and respect of agreement wey government dey ignore. Di strike na serious wahala as education system dey suffer, but ASUU no go back until dem demands meet.
