Nigeria don score major victory for maritime sector as United States Coast Guard don lift 12-year security restriction wey dey affect vessels coming from Nigerian ports.

Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adeboyega Oyetola, say di development show say Nigeria don make serious progress in maritime security and implementation of international port safety standards.

Di restriction wey start for 2014 had made vessels wey call at Nigerian ports face extra inspections and security checks before entering US waters.

Government say di lifting fit make Nigerian ports more attractive, reduce shipping delays and costs and boost trade, investment and jobs for di country.
