Court Say FCCPC No Get Power To Issue Telecom Licence

Federal High Court for Lagos don rule say Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) no get legal power to issue telecommunications licences to companies wey dey provide airtime and data-credit services.

Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa give di judgment on Monday for Suit No. FHC/L/CS/760/2026, after court hear challenge on FCCPC approval for five firms under di DEON Regulations.

According to di court, Di DEON Regulations remain valid because dem dey backed by di  Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act, wey give FCCPC power to investigate anti-competitive practices, protect consumers and make regulations.
