IKEDC, EKEDC Still Dey As Lagos Give New Light Companies Licence

Contrary to wetin dey fly for street, Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDC) and Ikeja Electric Plc (IKEDC) never comot or phase out, even as Lagos State give licence to two new light companies. Di two new companies wey Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) just approve, Excel Distribution Company Limited and IE Energy Lagos Limited, na just subsidiaries of EKEDC and IKEDC, no be say dem replace dem. One source talk say di reason wey dem create di new companies na to make sure say di old DisCos fit still hold dia national licence from NERC till 2028, but also obey Lagos State laws.
