Lagos Dey Save N14.8bn Every Year From Corps Members Service – NYSC DG Talk

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) don help Lagos State Government save about N14.8 billion every year because of how dem dey deploy corps members to different sectors for state. NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, yan dis one on Thursday when e visit Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for Lagos House, Marina. Nafiu talk say corps members dey contribute well well to Lagos socio-economic growth, especially for education, healthcare, plus other public and private work, and e still dey help bring people from different cultures and religion together. Lagos get over 44,000 corps members now, including 303 doctors, 7,148 teachers, and 274 nurses, plus another 35,000 dey work for other sectors. If Lagos for employ all these people full time, e go cost dem about N14.8 billion every year, Nafiu explain. E also praise Lagos government for always making sure say corps members get safe and comfortable environment, and say Lagos remain top place wey corps members dey like to serve.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reply say im government dey fully behind NYSC and see corps members as big part of Lagos progress. E promise to continue to invest for infrastructure wey go support corps members work, including plan to build permanent NYSC site for Ikorodu.
