Lagos Fire Service Records 1,324 Emergency Call In Nine Months

Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service don record 1,324 emergency incidents between January and September 2026, including 1,135 fire calls, as di state gorment beg resident to take fire prevention serious during dry season.
Di service Senior Public Affairs Officer, Fadairo Maria, yarn dis for di third-quarter activity report, wey show say di incidents include 79 rescue calls, 100 salvage operations, nine collapsed-building incident and one gas-related explosion.
Di report show say emergency responder rescue 210 pipu alive and recover 65 suspected dead bodies, while property wey dem save worth about ₦79.44 billion and property losses reach ₦13.24 billion.
Di Controller-General of di service, Margaret Adeseye, beg di pipu to avoid indiscriminate burning, handle flammable materials carefully, avoid overloading electrical sockets and report fire incidents quickly to prevent loss of lives and property.
