Dis one na part of di government wahala against people wey dey build without approval. According to di Special Adviser to di Governor on E-GIS and Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde Abiodun, di land wey QMB Mart dey occupy na originally for car park, but dem turn am to commercial hub wey get laundromat, clubhouse and eatery, all without government go-ahead. E talk say every development for Lagos must follow due process and anybody wey build without approval or change government land use without authorisation don break di law. On Thursday, LASBCA seal plenty buildings for Lekki and Ikoyi wey dem catch dey build without authorisation, as di agency continue to enforce building control regulation to maintain safety and order for di ever-growing Lagos city.

Di General Manager of LASBCA, Bldr. Gbaye Florence, talk say dem go continue to monitor construction across Lagos to make sure all buildings dey safe and meet global standard. She yarn say anybody wey build without approval go face enforcement action sharply. LASBCA also reveal say for di past one year, dem detect 8,663 building owners and developers for different infractions, carry out 2,232 stage inspections, issue 215 completion certificates, verify 159 building insurance policies and do 3,610 enforcement actions. For 2023, di agency demolish 349 distressed properties and take over 39 collapsed buildings as punishment for non-compliance.
