Lagos One-Chance Robbers Attack Guardian TV Boss, Steal Valuables

Head of Guardian TV, Lois Ogunniyi, fall victim to one-chance robbers for Lagos on Monday, November 24, 2025. Di attack happen for Toyota Bus Stop along Oshodi–Apapa Expressway as she dey go Rutam House, headquarters of The Guardian. She talk say di man wey siddon beside her for di mini-bus first ask make she hand over her bag, but she think say na tout wey dey beg money until di man bring out weapon and tell her, “You think we are joking with you right?” According to her, when she enter di bus, two people dey for back, one siddon her side, and one dey front with di driver. Despite people dey bus stop, di assailants carry out dia operation smoothly, no rush. She explain say na route wey she don dey use for three years and na di same Monday she realise everybody for di bus don arrange with di robbers.

Ogunniyi talk say di guy beside her press something for her side, demand her bag, and when she wan ignore di threat, he use force, bring out weapon and nobody inside di bus talk, so she know say dem be gang. Dem stop for Toyota bus stop, order her to commot, and as she come down she shout “ole, ole, ole!” but di robbers don already move. Inside her bag na phone, laptop, documents, shoes, food and original papers wey she wan use renew passport  including birth certificate, NIN, passport and others. She later go Mushin police station divisional headquarters with The Guardian CSO, Jason Nwaogazi, to incident di matter. When The Guardian contact Lagos Police PPRO, Abimbola Adebisi, she talk say di command go follow up but police no dey track phones, add say dem even get case wey dem don dey follow for seven months but di stolen phone never switch on.
