Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Office of Urban Development, join hand with Lagos Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Thursday lay foundation for building one ultra-modern shopping mall for the place wey dem demolish iron rod market for Pelewura, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island. For the groundbreaking ceremony, Special Adviser to Governor on Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Abiodun, talk say the mall go bring life back to Lagos Island. E talk say, “One of the main things we dey prioritize na to make sure every part of Lagos meet 20th-century city standard, na why we dey build this mall. We name am Lagos Island Iron Mall because before now, na iron sellers dey the land. The mall go get standard cinemas, big supermarkets, and other amenities. The project na collaboration between Lagos Island LCDA and Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.”

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, talk say the regeneration of Pelewura iron market na part of the model plan for Lagos Island. E add say dem don finish model plan for Lagos Island wey talk about total regeneration. “So, this mall na part of the plan. Ministry go make sure say the mall build according to correct standard. We get plans to develop Lagos Island and soon we go hold stakeholders meeting. We go support the project well well till e finish,” e talk. Chairman of Lagos Island LCDA, Folawiyo Alade, talk say the mall go bring back Lagos Island glory and construction go last one year.
