NAHCON Reduce 2026 Hajj Fare to N7.6m

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) don announce big reduction for 2026 Hajj fare. Deputy Director Information and Public Relations, Hajiya Fatima Usara, for Abuja on Monday talk say revised cost for Northern zone na N7,696,769.76, while pilgrims wey dey Southern zone go pay N792,943.83. She explain say after consultation with stakeholders and approval from authorities, new fares for 2026 Hajj dey as follows: Maiduguri/Yola Zone – N7,579,020.96 (before N8,118,033.67), Northern Zone – N7,696,769.76 (before N8,244,813.67), Southern Zone – N7,991,141.76 (before N8,561,013.67). NAHCON spokesperson talk say fares base on exchange rate of N1,443 per dollar, and intending pilgrims go enjoy reductions of N539,013, N548,043.91, and N569,871.91 for each zone respectively. She advise say pilgrims must complete payment by Dec. 5 to fit meet Saudi Arabia’s transfer deadline of Dec. 21, because transfers take 1–2 weeks to credit NAHCON IBAN account.

Mrs Usara also talk say previous slot allocation to states don stop, and allocation now na first-come-first-serve; states wey pay earlier go secure slots for registered number first. She quote Chairman, Forum of States Pilgrims Boards, Idris Almakura, wey advise members to finish their Saudi assignments fast and return Nigeria to mobilise for Hajj registration. Almakura explain say time dey serious, and Nigeria must fill quota for 2025 Hajj sharp-sharp.
