NGO Train 760 Students For First Lagos Career Fair

Over 760 students from 18 public and private secondary schools for Lagos State join di maiden Save A Child, Save A Nation Foundation Careers Fair 2025 wey hold Tuesday for Oshodi, Lagos. Di event, themed “My Career, My Future,” organize by Education District VI, divide di students into nine career sessions wey professionals from Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos Fire Service, Envirofit Nigeria, LSG Sky Chefs, Harde Business School, BuildPadi, Edustart Tech, Creation Pictures, and Agri Corner dey facilitate. Executive Director of di Foundation, Funmiola Olaore, talk say di programme dey guide students early to make correct career decisions, build confidence, and show dem opportunities from primary school reach senior secondary. She explain say di aim na to help SS3 students sabi wetin dem really want before dem exit school, so dem no go end up unemployable because dem no know why dem choose dia courses.

Di facilitators also stress say di fair dey expose students to real-world career paths, soft skills, mentorship, and interactive sessions wey go help dem make better life decisions. Di District VI counsellor, Omotoyole Olufunke, hail di organisers for coordination and urge make di programme extend to more schools. YABATECH representatives, including Dr Fadipe Adeniyi Olubunmi, talk say di college proud to host di event and highlight achievements of students for competitions and industrial training abroad. Students dem self express excitement say di fair open dia eyes, give dem direction, and inspire dem to pursue careers like firefighting, journalism, and more. Di NGO plan to make di event yearly, expand reach across Nigeria, and continue to equip secondary school students with correct career knowledge to shape di next generation of professionals.
