Gas Scarcity: Price Na Scam, Middlemen Dey Chop Nigerians – NALPGAM

Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) don raise alarm over how cooking gas price don dey jaga-jaga for everywhere for country, say di price wey dey now na fake. National President, Oladapo Olatunbosun yarn dis one for Channels TV The Morning Brief on Wednesday. E talk say di wahala na because PENGASSAN and Dangote Refinery fight, wey cause strike. Di strike make price waka comot from about ₦1,700 reach ₦2,000 per kilogram, and for some places, dem dey charge ₦3,000. But Olatunbosun talk say no official price increase dey, na market people dey use shortage exploit customers. E talk say some marketers just dey jack up price to make money, but dis one no correct.

Olatunbosun explain say before dis wahala, one kilogram gas bin dey between ₦1,200 and ₦1,300. Dangote refinery come reduce middlemen and make gas price soft. But di strike spoil everything because Dangote dey load 50 trucks daily, but during renovation e slow down. Then strike start, dem no fit load well, depot dry, product no reach. E talk say now di strike don stop, product dey land and dem dey deliver am back. Price suppose no pass ₦1,300 per kilogram. Demand don high, gas consumption don climb from 1.3 million metric tons to almost 2 million. Olatunbosun promise say by weekend, scarcity go finish as NLNG and others dey truck gas everywhere. He also warn say if you dey buy from third party, price fit high and na illegal. If you buy straight from gas plants, max price na ₦1,300 per kg.
