One Miss, Two Wound as Robbers Attack Osun Varsity Hostels

Two students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, chop serious injury as armed robbers attack two hostels outside di campus around 11pm on Monday night. One student wey no gree release im phone get cutlass wound, and another student also injure. Di robbers carry gun and cutlass, break windows, scatter rooms and collect phones, laptops, and money. One video show floor wey full of blood, while another show burglar-proof window wey dem destroy. According to one student, Daniel, di robbers hit two hostels, including Peace Hostel, and after dem rob, some students try chase dem but dem fire gun for air and everybody scatter. Reports say one student, Dorcas Oseghale, still dey miss since two months, while another nearly get kidnapped just a day before di robbery.

Di Students’ Union Government wey rush carry di wounded go health centre don complain say dis kind attacks don too much, and dem blame di state government and police for no dey do enough to protect students. Di SRC of Great Ife also release statement on Tuesday, say students dey live in fear because of di constant attacks. Dem talk say robbery still happen for Oreoluwa Hostel on Sunday night before di Monday incident, and security no dey improve. Dem call on Governor Ademola Adeleke, Osun CP, and other security heads to act fast before e too late. Dem still beg university management make dem find way increase on-campus accommodation because many students dey stay off-campus with no security. Police say dem never hear of di attack but advise di students to go report officially make dem fit start investigation.
