NPA Don Move To End Apapa Traffic Wahala With New Electronic Barrier System

Di Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) don vow say dem no go allow Apapa traffic wahala return again wey don cripple business and operation for Lagos ports before. Di Authority yarn say di new electronic barrier system wey dem don deploy for all terminal gate inside Lagos Port Complex go help keep order and sanity for di port area. According to di Port Manager, Mr Adebowale Lawal, di NPA don upgrade di Ètò electronic truck call-up system wey now dey connect terminal gates directly with di Ètò platform to arrange truck movement properly. Di move go make traffic flow better, bring transparency and keep di place calm. Lawal talk say na cooperation from terminal operators, drivers, clearing agents, unions and government agencies go make di system work well. Di NPA even confirm say since dem introduce Ètò and di barrier system in 2025, order don return as only authorised trucks with valid Ètò ticket fit enter di port.

Meanwhile, stakeholders like di Chairman of Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), Remi Ogungbemi, don debunk tori say gridlock don return, say all Apapa roads still dey clear and truck movement dey properly regulated. He commend di NPA and other agencies for di improved coordination wey don make traffic management better. NPA still dey push multi-modal transport system like rail and barge movement to reduce road congestion.
