Di Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) don reject di Thursday judgment wey Federal High Court Abuja take sentence dia leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment on seven terrorism-related charges. For statement wey Emma Powerful drop on Friday, IPOB insist say Kanu no commit any offence wey Nigerian law sabi, and say im agitation na strictly self-determination, a right wey international conventions protect. Powerful blast di judgment of Justice James Omotosho, accuse am of refusing to apply Section 36(12) of di 1999 Constitution wey talk say person no fit collect conviction unless di offence dey clearly defined for written law. IPOB come talk say in di coming days dem go expose all di contradictions, illegalities and defects wey dem say full Justice Omotosho ruling, stressing say no gun, no grenade, no GPMG, no explosive, no attack plan and no single witness ever show court say Kanu commit any offence for Nigerian or international law. Dem add say di only thing Federal Government dey criminalise na self-determination, wey Article 20 of African Charter and Article 1 of major UN Covenants protect, and say agitation no be terrorism, referendum no be weapon.
