Victims Point Out Alleged Owo Church Attackers For Court

Say Two more prosecution witnesses don tuk wetin dia eyes see ri for court on Tuesday about the June 5, 2022 terrorist attack for St Francis Xavier Catholic Church for Owo, Ondo State, as Federal High Court for Abuja collect more exhibits from DSS.

DSS dey prosecute five suspects wey include Idris Omeiza, Al Qasim Idris, Jamiu Abdulmalik, Abdulhaleem Idris and Momoh Otuho Abubakar over nine terrorism charges, but all of dem say dem no guilty.

At least 41 people die and more than 100 people injure, as di attack leave heavy pain and fear for Owo community.

During Tuesday’s hearing, One male witness wey dem dey call SSB recounted in detail how di attack take hapun.

Under cross-examination by DSS counsel Adedayo Adedipe (SAN), di witness say di gunmen forced dia way into di church through di back door afta worshippers tried to secure di main door.

Initially, im call di fifth defendant, Momoh Abubakar, but later corrected himself to point out di second defendant, Al Qasim Idris, afta di defendant removed his face mask and moved closer.

SSB also identified Abdulhaleem Idris as di fourth defendant , di man carrying a bag when di attackers were preparing to leave.

He described hearing multiple explosions while di assailants fired indiscriminately at worshippers.
