OPay don dismiss report say di fintech company wan stop operation for Naija, calling di information fake news.

Speaking for a town hall meeting for Lagos on Wednesday, OPay Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, Dotun Adekunle, say OPay dey here, OPay dey operate, and OPay no dey go anywhere.”

Adekunle say di false message claim say OPay go stop operation from September 1, but di company still dey operate normally on September 2, while he advise Nigerians to always confirm information through OPay official channels before taking financial decisions.

OPay Chief Legal Counsel, Akinfolabi Rokosu, say di company don take legal action against people wey dey behind di false information, while DSS and Nigeria Police dey investigate di matter and OPay don provide evidence to support di investigation.

Di company tok say customers and merchants fit continue to use OPay services normally, and e reaffirm say e remain committed to Nigeria through investment for digital payments, financial inclusion, technology and education.

OPay also highlight its ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship programme, wey dey support students for tertiary institutions across Naija.
