DSS Summon Dangote and NUPENG Over Alleged Break of Agreement

DSS don call Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals management plus NUPENG for emergency meeting as problem dey because dem talk say dem break agreement wey say workers fit join any union wey dem want. The meeting wey dem plan for Friday 3 p.m. go still get people from NLC and other important people join. For September 9, Dangote management and NUPENG sign MoU for DSS office for Abuja wey allow workers make dem fit join any union wey dem like without anybody wey fit disturb dem. People from NLC, TUC, government ministers, and other big people come watch as dem sign the MoU. But less than one day after dem sign, NUPENG talk say Dangote management break the agreement, but Dangote deny am. Today again, union talk say Dangote no dey talk truth well well.

For one statement wey NUPENG President Prince Williams Akporeha and General Secretary Afolabi Olawale sign together, dem talk say Dangote Refinery press release for September 11, 2025, no talk true about how dem dey treat workers and how workers fit join NUPENG. The MoU wey dem sign on September 9, 2025, come because Dangote first no gree make workers join union,  this one the agreement still talk true. But on September 11, Dangote refinery tell make dem remove NUPENG sticker for all trucks, then put sticker for DTCDA wey be group wey management create. Our members no gree do am. Some people wey don lose PTD union elections since 2023, now dem dey talk for DTCDA side. Some dey give interview for Nigeria and abroad to support Dangote. Nigerians suppose know say some of dem dey face criminal case (Charge No. CR/042/23) for FCT High Court for violent wahala, even try kill PTD and NUPENG leaders. One time, NUPENG General Secretary get serious beating, e enter coma but hospital bring am back. Nigerians no suppose gree make Dangote fool dem with free fuel delivery for whole country. Na way to stop other companies from hire tanker drivers, so only Dangote drivers go remain and dem go force dem join DTCDA. The plan na to destroy NUPENG and PTD branch.

E still important to talk say apart from tanker drivers, other refinery workers and office workers no dey allowed to join union. E dey for record say Dangote Group no allow union for their cement and sugar factories for Nigeria. Nigerians no suppose support any plan wey go take workers right to join union away.

Till this time wey press dey, Dangote Group never talk anything about these new wahala. But before, dem talk say joining any union for refinery na your own choice according to Nigerian law and ILO rules.
