FG Ban Discos From Charging For Meters, Threaten Sanctions

Federal Gornment don ban all electricity distribution companies (DisCos) and installers from collecting any payment for meters.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, yarn dis to tori pipo during inspection of newly imported smart meters at APM Terminals, Apapa, Lagos.
Adelabu explain say di meters, wey be part of World Bank–funded Distribution Sector Recovery Programme (DISREP), must be installed free for all consumers, and anyone wey demand money go face prosecution.
He add say 500,000 new smart meters ni enter Lagos, and him dey happy as another set don dey ready for installation.
