FRSC Dey Ready To Give Driver’s Licence Wey No Need Touch, Sharp Sharp

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) don announce new contactless biometric system wey go make driver’s licence issuance fast and digital for Nigeria. Dis new system go remove delay and temporary licence wahala as e go allow people get their licence sharp sharp once dem capture dem biometric data. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed talk say di printing facility don upgrade to fit produce 15,000 licences daily and plan dey to clear backlog before November 2025. Di new contactless biometric go capture fingerprint from small distance without physical contact and licence go print on di spot, making all di process quick and easy. Di system still go connect with National Identification Number database for better data verification.

Deputy Corps Marshal Aliyu Datsama confirm say di contactless system dey work and dem go start to use am nationwide, including Lagos. Dem don reduce backlog from 800,000 to 400,000 licences and production fit reach 40,000 daily, so dem dey hope to clear everything soon. Datsama also urge those wey don do capture to go collect their licences as over 206,000 still dey unclaimed for different states. FRSC campaign tagged “Tech Responsibility for Your Safety: Stop Distracted Driving” also dey run to reduce road accidents during festive season. Dem dey work with state governments and agencies like Vehicle Inspection Office to make sure new system work well across di country.
