Lagos Extend Permit Allowance

Lagos State Government don once again extend di closure of di popular amnesty programme wey dem start to bring many homeowners into di system make dem obtain dia planning permits and get documented. Di extension na response to property owners wey no fit benefit from di same programme last year. Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, talk say Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu don approve di reintroduction of di amnesty for di third time during him leadership. Di programme go allow owners of existing but unapproved buildings regularise dia buildings without paying di statutory penal fees wey dey follow building without permit. Di current amnesty window go run 61 days, from November 1 to December 31, 2025, and Olumide urge property owners and developers make dem quickly take advantage to perfect dia building approvals.

Di Commissioner explain say di amnesty programme no go only help owners regularise dia unapproved developments, e go also protect dem from future wahala, enforcement, and penalties. E outline di documents wey dem go need include title document/proof of ownership, survey plan, architectural (As-Built), structural, electrical and mechanical drawings where e dey necessary. Others na non-destructive integrity test report, letter of structural stability and indemnity, LUPAR, evidence of tax compliance plus other supporting papers where e need. Olumide add say all applications under di amnesty go follow town planning regulations strictly, and only buildings wey meet minimum standards go get approval. E also advise interested applicants make dem submit dia applications quickly through any LASPPPA District Offices across di 57 LGAs/LCDAs or via di Electronic Planning Permit (EPP) Office at LASPPPA Headquarters, Oba Akinjobi Way, GRA, Ikeja.
