Lagos People Don Shout Say Dem Never See Light For Two Months

Residents for Lone Street wey dey Oworonshoki area of Lagos don dey cry say dem don dey without light for two months after Ikeja Electric officials disconnect three transformers for dia area since August 14 under di excuse say dem wan repair am. Di transformers wey dey Ugolugo still never come back up till now even after plenty complain and follow-up. One of di residents, Justus Adejumoh, talk say some Ikeja Electric officials come remove things from di transformer with two policemen talk say na because some people never pay bill, but many people wey get prepaid meter no dey owe. Adejumoh beg make Ikeja Electric punish only di people wey dey owe, no be di whole community. Ikeja Electric customer care bin reply on September 14 say dem go handle am, but up till now, everywhere still dark.

Another resident wey call himself Babs talk say di wahala start since February 28 when one wooden pole burn and dem write Ikeja Electric to replace am, but dem just dey give excuse. He say since dem disconnect di transformer for August 20, di whole place don turn darkness. Another person, Orobo, talk say Ikeja Electric never gree explain wetin dey happen as CDA and elders don waka tire go dia office without result. Nearby streets like Oluwaseun and Salami don get light back, but Lone Street still dey for blackout. Di Vice Chairman of di LCDA, Prince Elias, call di disconnection wicked and exploitative, talk say di company remove transformer without notice and still dey collect Band A money wey no get sense. Di blackout don cause insecurity and spoil small businesses for di area.
