Ogun Dey Target N750bn Revenue, Dey Also Plan To Modernise Kara Market

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, don set big target to generate N500bn in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to fund di 2026 fiscal year, with long-term aim to reach N750bn by 2027. Di governor announce dis target on Tuesday during Treasury Board meeting on di 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and di 2026 Budget for Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Abiodun talk say Ogun State get strategic advantage as Nigeria industrial hub, wey e go use di proximity to Lagos and di vast landmass of over 16,000 square kilometres to achieve di target. E yarn say di state no suppose dey generate less than N500bn a year, and by 2027, revenue go rise reach N750bn.

Di governor task di Ogun State Internal Revenue Service to contribute N250bn of di target, while other revenue agencies like Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation, Bureau of Lands, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and Ministry of Housing dem go scale up efforts.
