Oyo Declare Tuesday Public Holiday

Oyo State government don declare Tuesday, 16th June 2026 as work-free day to mark Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.

Gofnor Seyi Makinde approve di holiday as way to show respect and solidarity with Muslim community for the state.

Na oga Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, sorosoke di mata, say di Hijrah na important event wey mark Prophet Muhammad migration from Mecca to Medina.

Gofnment still urge residents make dem use di day pray for peace, unity and beta development for Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
