Petrol Don Cost, Nigerians Go Pay More

Nigerians go pay more to buy premium motor spirit, wey people sabi as petrol, as fuel price don skyrocket for some filling stations for Abuja on Monday. NNPC Limited outlets like Empire, AA Rano, and Shema don increase dia pump price to between N905 and N945 per litre as at October 6, 2025. For Wuse Zone 6 (Berger), Wuse Zone 4, Kubwa Expressway and Gwarimpa, places like Shema, Empire, and AA Rano don adjust dia pump price, with Empire Filling Station for Gwarimpa selling at the highest rate of N945. Other stations like MRS, Emedeb, Raniol, and Eterna dey sell between N885 and N910 per litre. President and spokesperson of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi and Chinedu Ukadike, blame the price wahala on supply disruption from PENGASSAN strike. Maigandi talk say fuel wey dem get from Dangote Refinery still dey sell between N885 and N895 per litre, and say panic buying plus artificial scarcity fit cause the current hike, but price go soon drop.

Ukadike confirm say the strike last week cause scarcity for Lagos and Abuja, but say availability go soon balance am. Depot prices don also rise,  Dangote Refinery dey sell at N844 per litre, Raniol and Aiteo at N845, and NIPCO at N850 in Lagos. All dis dey happen few days after Dangote Refinery and PENGASSAN settle dia wahala wey start because of mass sack of workers. The strike last two days before Federal Government intervene. On Monday, Dangote hail President Tinubu and others for helping stop the strike. Meanwhile, VP Shettima yarn for NES31 say Nigeria big pass PENGASSAN, but PENGASSAN president Festus Osifo reply say Nigeria also big pass Dangote Refinery and even the presidency.
