Team Imo Carry Six Silver, Two Bronze As Medal Wahala Tight For National Youth Games

Team Imo athletes show strong performance for Monday for the ongoing 9th National Youth Games wey dey happen for Asaba, Delta State, as dem carry four silver medals for Para Table Tennis, Darts, Cricket, and Para Powerlifting. Cyclist Onasanya Samuel start the medal waka with silver for 80KM road race, while weightlifter Victory Iwuoha come add one silver and two bronze medals for the 60KG category, make Team Imo medal tally sweet well well. For Para Table Tennis, Amarachi Blessing Nkwocha and Chizoba Ohaka try their best but dem lose to Abia players Goodnews Young and Ikechi Victoria for Girls’ Doubles final, so dem gats settle for silver medal. Another silver medal come from Darts 501 singles where Grace Ebochukwu lose 2-0 to Team Delta’s Jessica Okonkwo for final.

The Cricket team no carry last as dem finish runners-up, collect silver for male ODI category. Para Powerlifting also bring better news as Ojike Caleb grab second place for Men’s 87KG event. With all these medals, Team Imo don get six silver and two bronze medals so far. Even though people dey happy for their performance, officials talk say dem still fit do better as dem still dey try to get gold medal when the Games go continue for Tuesday.
