Lagos State Sports Commission don announce say dem don dissolve di Senior Team because of dia act of insubordination. Director General of LSSC, Lekan Fatodu, explain say some vexed senior athletes do protest for State Secretariat for Alausa, and di protest later turn wahala. Fatodu talk say di athletes dey demand dia award money after dia performance wey no too sweet for di 2020 and 2024 National Sports Festival. He talk say di awards no be something wey di athletes get right to collect by force, and e still add say some of dem dey collect monthly allowance and dey get welfare support. DG LSSC come talk say, “E pain person say some people, including fake people wey dey claim say dem be spokesperson of di team wey don dissolve, dey try confuse di public.

Di kindness wey Mr. Governor show Lagos athletes no suppose be something wey people go take for granted or misuse.” “We no take dis decision anyhow. Na because of di poor performance of Senior Team Lagos for di National Sports Festival and di need to arrange Lagos sports well well to reach better level.”  Lekan Fatodu talk say plans dey ground to push di U15 athletes enter di senior team. Fatodu explain say di teams wey dem dissolve go open way for athletes wey get discipline and serious mind, wey go make di state proud. He talk say, “We dey committed to build system wey go celebrate merit, hard work, and dedication. Di dissolution of di team go open road for new, talented athletes wey ready to give dia best and make di state proud for national stage.” Lagos State finish for number seven with 24 gold, 37 silver, and 70 bronze with total of 131 medals, for di 2024 National Sports Festival wey happen for Ogun State.
