Meanwhile, House of Representatives don raise alarm say Nigeria get 1,894 unmanned borders out of 1,978, wey dey vulnerable to illegal activities. Chairman of Ad-Hoc Committee on Border Security, Isa Anka, talk say only 84 entry points get security operatives, and di rest dey exposed to illegal arms, drugs, and human trafficking. Anka blame di porous borders on inadequate resources, bad terrain like forests, rivers, mountains, and deserts, plus poor attitude of border personnel. He add say government don spend over N9 trillion on security but gains no match expense. Anka pledge say di committee go formulate strategies to reduce illegal cross-border activities. Speaker Abbas Tajudeen also talk say porous borders na big economic and existential threat, and call for synergy, transparency, intelligence sharing, community involvement, and proper oversight of funds to improve Nigeria border security.
