Task Force, Police Scatter Buildings Wey Illegal Tenants Dey Stay For Lagos

KAI task force people, together with police, don start to demolish some buildings for Maryland area of Ikeja. Di demolition wey start Monday target buildings wey illegal tenants dey stay for. People wey see wetin happen talk say as bulldozers start work, occupants begin rush comot their things quick-quick, bags and household stuff , before building dem come crash down. Even scavengers no waste time, dem begin carry wood and other things wey  dem fit use comot from the place. As KAI Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Lukman talk, dis demolition na because landowners complain say illegal tenants dey do bad things like robbery, wey make di area no safe, especially for night time.

“Dis buildings na illegal shanties. As of yesterday, we still dey here, and we don already give notice. Actually, we warn di illegal tenants since about three months ago,” he talk. According to Lukman, di landowners complain say some bad guys wey dey hide for di buildings dey rob people wey dey waka pass, and this one dey make residents no fit rest well for night. He emphasize say dem give proper warning before dem demolish so that squatters go comot well.
