Tragedy burst for Katcha Local Government Area, Niger State as one fuel tanker blow, kill 35 people and injure 46 others. The gbege happen for Agaie-Bida Road, Essa village, Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2025, as people dem dey scoop petrol wey spill from fallen tanker. The tanker fall around 11am because road no too good for Essa, near Badeggi town, and people rush go scoop fuel before di tanker explode around 2pm.

FRSC Niger Sector Commander, Hajiya Aishatu Sa’adu, confirm say 35 people die and 46 others injure. Dem carry injured go Federal Medical Centre, Bida, with help from FRSC, villagers and good Samaritans. Sa’adu warn make people no dey scoop fuel from accident spot again, say e dey dangerous. Tanker Drivers Association chairman, Farouk Mohammed Kawo, talk say tanker dey come North from Lagos when e fall and catch fire. He beg Niger government make dem fix road quick as over 30 tankers don crash for that same road dis month because road bad.
