Lagos Dey Give Free HIV Testing For World AIDS Day

Di Lagos State AIDS Control Agency don announce say dem go start statewide free HIV testing, wey go run for all LGAs and LCDAs from 18th November to 1st December 2025. Di exercise na part of activities for 2025 World AIDS Day and dey follow LSACA commitment to make HIV testing easy, encourage early diagnosis, and connect residents wey need care across di state. LSACA post for X say di program go help close testing gaps, raise awareness for HIV prevention, management, and reduce stigma. Dem don deploy trained counsellor-testers, enough testing kits, condoms, and IEC materials to make sure everything run smooth for all communities.

LSACA CEO, Dr. Folakemi Animashaun, talk say early testing important to meet Lagos public health goals. She encourage residents to visit testing points for dia LGAs and LCDAs to get free, confidential services. She add say LSACA dey work with development partners and community organisations to reach underserved areas, expand testing and counselling centres, and intensify awareness campaigns to prevent new infections. She urge all Lagosians make dem take advantage of di free screening, because knowing HIV status na key step toward HIV-free generation. LSACA na di body wey dey implement HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programmes for Lagos, and e dey collaborate with government ministries, partners, civil society, and community structures to reduce new infections and improve life for people wey dey live with HIV.
