Lagos Don Begin Clear Tejuosho Market

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, talk say public spaces must remain orderly, safe and free from obstruction, and di ministry go continue to enforce di law and ensure compliance with environmental regulations across Lagos. Speaking with The Guardian, Head of Public Affairs and Advocacy Unit for Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), also known as KAI, Ajayi Lukman, reveal say dem receive petitions against di traders three months ago and engage dem many times to leave di road but all di engagements no yield fruit.

He talk say di traders no turn new leaf despite series of advocacy, so dem decide to dislodge dem on November 18, 2028, as di traders leave dia shops occupy walkways and setbacks, even close two lanes leave only one for motorists and convert di road into market. He add say dia excos come apologise but no going back on di operation. Di Corps Marshal, Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (rtd), talk say residents must help make Lagos habitable and cleaner for business by monitoring dia environs. He condemn di nefarious acts of environmentally-insensitive individuals and warn about di negative public health impact. Cole also stress how open urination, defecation and improper refuse disposal dey contribute to poor air quality for some parts of di state.
