Permanent Secretary, Office of Urban Development, Gbolahan Oki, talk say illegal buildings dey still cause wahala for environmental sustainability and urban planning, and ministry go continue to support LASBCA make all buildings meet standards. Acting General Manager of LASBCA, Gbaye Florence, add say agency go intensify monitoring across all zones. Di demolished structures don receive multiple notices, including stop-work and demolition orders, but owners refuse comply. Enforcement team still move to Lekki–Ikoyi axis, targeting buildings under high-tension power lines. Dis action follow previous demolitions for Oworonshoki, Trade Fair, Ikota, and others. Government insist say all property developers must get proper approvals.
