Senate President Godswill Akpabio don urge di Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) make dem deepen bilateral and multilateral partnerships to strengthen Nigeria adaptive intelligence framework to tackle di evolving security threats. Akpabio talk dis one for Abuja on Monday during di opening of di Chief of Defence Intelligence Annual Conference 2025 wey get di theme, “The Role of Multi-Source Intelligence Innovation in National Security.” As Sen. Ahmad Lawan represent am, he yarn say global security realities don make am necessary for intelligence institutions to dey cooperate with allies, share timely information and use emerging technologies to counter complex threats. He explain say national security agencies all over di world dey rely on multi-source intelligence platforms like human intelligence, signals intelligence, open-source data, geospatial tools and cyber intelligence to generate actionable insights. Akpabio hail DIA for di way dem dey integrate data, collaborate across agencies and adapt technologically, and for including Defence Advisers, Attachés and State Office Coordinators to merge domestic and international intelligence perspectives.

Akpabio remind dem say as threats dey evolve, dia capacity to collect, process and interpret information across different domains must grow. He emphasise say di Defence Attaché System dey critical for defence diplomacy, while state intelligence offices dey provide ground-level insights to counter emerging threats. He urge Defence Attachés make dem intensify diplomatic engagements with host nations and call on state coordinators to improve collaboration with local security agencies. Akpabio still push make dem explore AI, machine learning and advanced data analytics for modern intelligence operations since innovation dey important to meet adversaries wey dey exploit technology. He hail Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lt.-Gen.
