Ondo Amotekun Tighten Security For Schools As Threats Dey Rise, Arrest 16 Suspects

Di Ondo State Security Network Agency, wey dem dey call Amotekun Corps, don tighten security for public and private schools across di state as fear about students’ safety dey rise. State Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, yarn this on Tuesday as him parade 16 suspects wey dem arrest for different offences. Adeleye talk say di security reinforcement follow intelligence reports and recent attacks on schools for other parts of di country. He explain say Amotekun operatives don deploy for routine patrol, surveillance and quick-response monitoring around schools, especially boarding schools. He add say, “In di wake of recent outcry over security breaches and kidnapping, di Corps don start full enhanced patrol of all boarding schools.” He also talk say dem don visit many schools in di last one week and mount surveillance, especially for border towns and outskirts.

Adeleye say di arrests come through intensified patrol under Operation Le Won Jade (Operation Flush Them Out) wey start last week to strengthen security for Ondo border corridors ahead of di 2025 ember months. He talk say di operation dey target kidnappers, bandits, armed robbers and other criminals for forest reserves and boundary areas linking Ondo with Ogun, Ekiti, Kwara and Osun states. Of di 34 arrests wey dem make in one week, 16 suspects dey paraded—10 for breach of public order, three for kidnapping and three for violating anti-open grazing law. One suspect, Abubakar, was arrested for Ogbese for flouting di anti-grazing law while others dey linked to stealing, fraud, vandalism and murder. Adeleye note say criminal activities don reduce because of di operation and better compliance with di anti-grazing law. He thank local community heads like Olus and Balas for timely intelligence wey stop several attacks, and reassure residents say security agencies dey work round di clock to protect lives and property as di ember months progress.
