Lead Poison Wahala: Senate Raise Red Alert for Ogijo

The Senate raise big alarm as lead poison don dey spread fast-fast for Ogijo, one heavily packed community wey sit for border between Ikorodu (Lagos) and Ogun East.

Lawmakers on thursday no hide mouth, say na  full-blown environmental and public-health disaster wey fit put thousands of residents for serious danger.

Leading the yanings for the houz,  Senators Mukhail Adetokunbo (Lagos East) and Gbenga Daniel (Ogun East)  clear matter say na Matters of Urgent Public Importance, based on Orders 41 and 51 of di Senate Standing Orders, 2023.

According to dem, scientific tests don confirm say di area don choke with deadly lead contamination, and di main suspects nah one cluster of used lead-acid battery recycling factories wey don dey operate for years, quietly pumping poison into di community.

Dem warn say if action no follow immediately, di crisis fit turn serious wahala to kontri man and woman.
