Commonwealth Games Organisers Bar Ochonogor From Women Long Jump

National long jump champion, Prestina Ochonogor, no go fit compete for women long jump event for di 2026 Commonwealth Games for Glasgow after organisers reject Nigeria request to add her name.

According to letter wey Games Technical Delegate, Chris Cohen, sign on Sunday, organisers say Nigeria don already replace Ese Brume with Ruth Usoro, and competition rules no allow another athlete to join di event.

Ochonogor qualify after she win di National Athletics Trials for Yabatech Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos, for June with jump of 6.57 metres when Brume no compete.

Organisers say dem reject di request because her name no dey inside Nigeria original final entry list, so only Ruth Usoro go represent di country for di women’s long jump event.
