Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday say for Eko Health Convention wey hold for Victoria Island, Lagos, say di state get shortage of 40,000 doctors and 40,000 nurses because di population dey grow fast.

Sanwo-Olu also reveal say over 1.5 million residents don join di Ilera Eko health insurance scheme as government dey strengthen healthcare across Lagos.

Di governor explain say Lagos need at least extra N100 billion above di current health budget because existing funds no fit meet di healthcare needs of residents.

Sanwo-Olu warn say shrinking donor support and shortage of health workers remain di biggest challenges facing Lagos healthcare system.
