Federal Gorment Start Nationwide Toktok for New National Water Compact

Federal Gorment don begin nationwide consultation with states and other stakeholders to develop a National Water Compact wey go help tackle Nigeria water and sanitation problems and strengthen water security across di country.

Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev, disclose dis on Thursday for Abuja during di stakeholders’ consultation workshop for di development of Nigeria National Water Compact.

Utsev say di initiative important because di water sector still dey face challenges like rapid urbanisation, population growth, climate change, environmental degradation, poor infrastructure, weak institutional coordination and lack of enough funding.

E say dis challenges don continue to affect Nigeria ability to provide reliable water supply, sanitation services and water for productive activities.
