Nigerian Army don clear air say no be dem shoot person for inside Ojo Military Cantonment for Lagos as people dey talk for social media. Army talk say di shooting happen outside di barracks near Mammy Market abattoir gate on October 18, 2025, and e relate to cult wahala, no be soldiers fault. Troops of 81 Division rush go di scene after dem hear shooting, dem find one man, Rilwan Adekunle, badly hurt and dem carry am go Ojo Cantonment Medical Centre but he die there. Army confirm say di shooting na because of suspected cult activities.

Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director for Army Public Relations, beg people and media to dey confirm tins well before dem publish to stop wrong info wey fit cause panic or make Army bad. Army express sadness for di loss and send condolence to family and friends. Dem promise say 81 Division go continue to work with other security agencies to keep peace for Lagos and protect law-abiding people from crime.
